Dental Veneers in Sunnyvale, CA

Dental Veneers

A veneer is a custom-made shell designed to fit over the front portion of your tooth. At Smile Center Silicon Valley, we design veneers using precise measurements and materials that mimic the appearance of your natural enamel, which means they will look incredibly lifelike and realistic.

Veneers have been used for decades to improve smiles and are a popular cosmetic dentistry treatment. They can fix several smile issues simultaneously, including chips, cracks, stains, and gaps between teeth. The porcelain also reflects light, just like natural teeth, so you won’t have to worry about them looking unnatural or fake. Plus, they resist staining and won’t change color over time. This means they will stay nice and bright no matter what!

Dental veneers can last up to 15 years when properly cared for. They can also be easier to clean and maintain than crowns or other restorations.

Types of Veneers

Two main types of veneers are used to mask imperfections in teeth: composite resin and porcelain veneers. Composite resin veneers cost less than porcelain veneers but will likely need to be replaced more frequently than porcelain veneers because of their thinner structure.

Porcelain is also more stain-resistant and durable than composite material, so most cosmetic dentists will recommend porcelain veneers for teeth that need the most improvement or for the front teeth that will be visible when smiling. Both types of veneers are custom-made in a dental lab based on impressions of the patient’s teeth.

The Procedure for Dental Veneers

A veneer can make a chipped tooth look whole again while also protecting the tooth from further damage. Veneers can also close gaps between teeth, lengthen short teeth, or change the color of stained or discolored teeth.

The process of creating and placing veneers typically requires two visits. During the first visit, our cosmetic dentist will talk to you about your goals for your smile, examine the overall health of your teeth and gums, and take impressions to create your custom veneers. Typically, temporary veneers will be placed at this time.

During your second appointment, the temporary veneers will be removed, and the permanent ones will be put in place. Because several adjustments are typically necessary to ensure a proper fit, you should schedule a follow-up appointment about a week after placing your final set of veneers.

If you have gaps between or abnormally shaped teeth, veneers can help cover these imperfections to give you an even smile. Visit Smile Center Silicon Valley at 877 W.
